Question Can I Use Dreamweaver MX to modify a Front Page template
I found a website template that I really like. It says I need Microsoft FrontPage
and Macromedia Flash MX. I have Flash and Dreamweaver MX. Is there a way to use Dreamweaver instead of FrontPage to edit this template.

Thanks for your help.
George

I doubt you need Front page to edit the template.. just edit the HTML useing notepad?

BTW; where is the template you found? Oh, and welcome to TSG!

Using Dreamweaver MX for Front Page template
Thanks for the reply. So even though it says I need FrontPage, all I really need is to be able to edit the html. I thought that there were certain design features built in by FrontPage that I would need the program to change.

As for where I saw the template. Go to www.templatemonster.com.
Hope that helps you.

Thanks,
George

Hey George, you can usually use dreamweaver just fine but every once in a while I will run into one that looks wierd when I open in dreamweaver so I do switch to frontpage and it will work better. I hardly ever need to use frontpage but its nice to have both. Or I just use textpad and edit the html if all else fails as suggested.

Thanks virtualgeorg,

I guess I'll buy the template and see what happens when I use Dreamweaver instead of FrontPage.

Geo1way,

Before you plunk down some $ for the template, make the rounds at other sites for I have noticed that some carry the very same templates and the prices do differ...

Just my two cents so you can save yours...

HTML is HTML. Period. Dreamweaver can edit HTML, so you should be fine. If it has proprietary FrontPage elements, then it's not a good template. Ideally you want one that conforms to XHTML standards and uses CSS.

Just what I was going to say. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ect. -- it all is universal and as long as you don't have any program specific file types (like Adobe Photoshop has .abr files for brushes).
