Web stats recommendation
Hi, does anyone have a web stats program they can recommend? Our hosts stats are not very good, and webtrends has gotten way to expensive I see. I'm looking for something that runs on a local PC grabs the logs and produces a report. I tried Surf Stats but don't find that it works very well and their support is bad.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Google Analytics is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G...

www.google.com/analytics

Here is a screen shot I just took, note all the other things you can do on the left side, this is just a simple repserentation of what analytics can do.

The only down side is that you have to place a small javascript code in every page you want tracked. This can easily be done though if you have Find and Replace button though, dreamweaver can do this, and search within a folder of pages.

Thanks knight_47. I didn't want to have to do the code paste thing but it looks like that is the way to go these days. I'm a big fan of most of the Google apps so far so I'll give this a try.

This looks like it does the same things as Webtrends does for $699, at least at the level I need for these sites.

great stat counter - free :)
I have been using this for quite some time and I love it!
it supplies the very simple code that you need to install with beginners instructions, a no brainer.
And it is free, non cumbersome and easily accessible.

If you do use it, do yourself a favour and click on the little wrench icon, scroll down and go to the page that stops logging you so that your stats aren't all messed up.
