Newsletter help
I am trying to make a newsletter to email out to people, I am using dreamweaver to make the page. Is this the best way?
Also I would like to know how to send the file so it is embedded in the email.
Also When I build a page how do you get a background image to lie behind text. Like a border around the text is it a background image.

Hi,

Don't know if this will help, but save your file as ' .html' in your signature sub directory and as you send the e-mails out just change the 'signatures' to reflect. Name 'newsletters' by date or some thing you can keep track of.

I use Firefox 2.0.0.3 - make sure that you enable the 'html' in your settings (and those who receive them) and get the 'signature switch' extention.

Can't answer the 'Dreamweaver question' (I use notepad ++) and haven't figured out how to embed image yet.

Hope it helps.

Grab a template from www.sparklist.com, modify it to your liking.
I use Mozilla Thunderbird to insert the html (created in Dreamweaver or Nvu) into the body of the email and send it out. Also, take a look at www.mailchimp.com

You could design the newsletter in photoshop, this way, you can have a background image and anything else you want, you then save it as a jpg. Depending on which email editor you use, you can embed the newsletter by going insert>image or insert>picture into the main part of your email editor. Hope this helps

It is usually not a good idea to have the newsletter mainly an image. The spam detectors usually do not like that.

You can make a html file in OE or similar, save it in your documents and when you create mail, you go to create mail from web page.

The biggest problem will be sending it out. Adding the addresses will be murder if you have a sizeable contact list. Remember sending it to multiple customers will show all the addresses.

Most CMS scripts have newsletter facilities in them these days.
