My website is BLANK (only in China)
Hi all,

Theres a funny problem I'm facing. We recently put up a website for China (made using asp.net) and it doesnt load! It loads everywhere else but in China it simply shows a blank page and I get the "Done" message in IE at the bottom!

Strangely enough it loads on my laptop in China which is also connected to a local ISP. Where can the problem lie? The website developer suggested shifting the server to China but do you think thats a soltution?

Please help.

Thanks,
Tejas

Well if the website is intended for China, then having the sever in China might help the page load time. But other than that, it shouldn't make a difference.

Have you tried a different browser, maybe it's your IE? What version of IE are you using?

Yes. Tried a different Browser too. IE 6 is what most computers are using. Can the connection speed be an issue? I'm not quite sure of that either coz then I should get an Operation Timed out or Error loading page something of that sort.

Can the server be faulty? Maybe change of server not necessarily Chinese, may just try that.

Thanks

Although I've never written a website for the Chinese market, I have written websites for people in other countries around the world and generally, if it works in one country, it should work in another! If it doesn't work, it won't work anywhere! That's my experience anyway

You may have already checked this out, but could this problem be due to The Great Firewall Of China?

You can test your site here just to make sure.

Nopes. It shows the site blocked. But also shows other working sites blocked!

The problem may also have to do with frames used on it. We are trying to make a frame free version of the site.
