Good morning:

I have have had a vertical pop-out menu working for some months but noticed a few days ago that it does not work with IE 7 even though it still works with IE 6 and earlier versions, FF and Opera.

The original menu works on the site where I found it but not on mine and I can not figure out why this should be. The orginal site is http://www.seoconsultants.com/css/menus/vertical/

I have tried changing the menu file from htm to txt to shtml and nothing seems to change the result - in the end I think I will use menuv.txt but for the moment it doesn't make any difference as far as I can see. Links to my pages are:

IE7 is buggy. Hopefully when its SP1 is released a lot of these problems will go away.

Good afternoon:

Didn't think I would ever discover the answer and respond to my own question but the solution to my problem lies in changing the doc type and changing the name of the menu file from "menuv.htm" to "menuv.txt".

Nothing to do with this problem but I have been using both FP and EW and I can't say that I am a great fan of EW.

An not qualified to say yea or nay about the quality of the code but EW adds seven thousand darned "styles" to the code of every page and makes a real hash of things when the page is viewed in different browsers.
