Have not figured out the root cause of the gap, but ...

Eliminating the height="100%" from the last table tag that has the "Listen Now | About Us | Shows | FAQ |..." links seems to get rid of the gap when viewed in Firefox and IE6

Actually, I think that IS the root cause of the gap. Height="100%" tells that table to be the height of the browser window. If you resize your window, the height of the gap changes too.

Yoshway, if you're just building the site, you might want to consider doing it with CSS instead of tables. You can accomplish all the same design elements with CSS and tables are not recommended for layout. Good luck!

Learning something new everyday (and learning the ins and outs of CSS is adding gray to the few remaining hairs on my head)

I did just notice that the height of the gap was changing to the browser window height. I thought the table was trying to fit itself into some other container on the page.

FYI, yoshway is using some CSS on their site now for formatting their links and background colors ...

Ah, good point, thanks. I didn't even look at that. I guess what I should have said is that you (they) might want to use CSS for positioning instead of using tables for layout.
