*** PHP will not open .php files ***
I recently installed PHP 5.2.4 on my windows XP that is running apache 2.0. I followed all instructions explicitly and correctly.

Whenever I try to open any .php file with my internet browser it asks me how I want to open the file and I get a pop-up that says:

------------------------------------------------
"What should Firefox do with this file?"

Open with: phpfile (default)
----------------------------------------------
Then it opens the .php file in Dreamweaver....

--->If I try to browse to pick the php.exe executable to open instead, it doesn't work either--in fact, nothing happens!
-->If I type in the address in my browser of my site:
"http://worldveil.hopto.org/hypotenuse.php" ---> I get nothing. Blank page.

***Why is it doing this? I don't understand -- my web server is working perfectly fine. Why can't I use PHP when it is installed on my computer?

ANY help would be appreciated. Thanks all.

How do you tried to open your PHP files:

Like this: c:\Your Project Directory\Home\index.php ?

OR

Like this: http://localhost/home/index.php

The second one is the right way to open server files on your browser.

Yes, that is how I try to open in the browser.

http://localhost/php.php

--> But, like I said, when I try to do this I get a blank page. There isn't even a source code that can be seen. PHP is installed -- why won't work?

edit php.php and type in the following:

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

open it. Do you see anything?

It is not possible to see the PHP source from a browser.
