Animated GIF program + HTML
I'm designing a web page for an assignment, and I need a program that will create gif files and then let me see the code necessary to plug it in to the HTML. I'm sure there is probably a program out there--a FREE one that does this sort of thing. I downloaded a program from Beneton software, but apparently it's incompatible with my Virtual Machine, so I need something that will run on Windows XP that is being operated through Paralells on a Mac--unless there is a program of that sort that runs on the MacOSX?! *wish I could be that lucky....sigh*

Oh! And did I forget to mention that the program HAS to be FREE??

Thanks in advance for the help! Hopefully someone can provide me with some!

DISCLAIMERS: Found with a Google search. I have never tried this program. Use at your own risk. I have not used a Mac for almost 8 years.

I wanted to thank you for your help...however, the program didn't work quite as I had hoped--so everything turns into a big old mess in the end....*sigh*

But thank you for trying at least!

As far as I know, when you create an animated GIF, all of the "animation" stuff is embedded in the GIF itself, so all you need to do is specify the location of the GIF image with a standard img tag.

Gimp can be used to create animated GIFs but not as easily as a GIF-centric application. Gimp runs on both Windows and Mac OS X so you can choose on which platform you want to run it.

Here is a tutorial that shows how Gimp can be used to create animated GIFs.

Peace...
