Exporting data in mysql to an excel sheet
1.
I need to export data that is in a table to an excel sheet with the field names on top followed by the values of the fields. I know how to extract the data and display with echo statement, however i need the code which would display this information in a excel sheet. any help will be appreciated.

2.
is it possible to use 1 php file only which will be able to read the number of times a particular html page has been visited without the php code written in every html page.

please advice.

thanks

Hi,

Do you have access to the phpMyAdmin?

If you do then if you click the export button on the menu to the top. When the page opens, you have many options down the left hand side to choose what format to export the data to. I've never exported anything to an excel file using phpMyAdmin, so i'll be interested to know how it turns out.

Regards,
Anthony

I have exported to excel sheet from myphpadmin. all you do is click the export link and select excel format. However in my case i would like to run a select query and provide user an option when they click on a link, they should be able to open or save all the data from the select query populated into the excel sheet. please advice.

Hi,

Searched google for you, and the first couple of links seem to show some good demonstrations of how to achieve this.
