image and tables in dreamweaver
Hi all,

I'm new to website design and I'm currently using photoshop and dreamweaver to design my website. so here's the problem.

I've designed a template in photoshop, which I have sliced and saved for web to use with dreamweaver.

I've opened the template in dreamweaver so that I can add more things to the site. the problem is, I am unable to place an image or text where I want it. If I insert an image it places it under or above the slices. I cannot place an image over the actual template or move an image where I want it. the same goes for text or table. The tables appear on the left side of the screen, but I can't move it to where i want to over the photshop image i opened.

Is there a way I can move an image over the template and place it where I want and so goes for tables or text.

please help!!!

Turning a photoshop image into a webpage can be tricky. When splicing the photoshop you need to determine which parts are background colors, background images, or foreground images. The background items should be set in a stylesheet as backgrounds of divs(or some other html item on the page), the foreground images should be placed on the page as <img />. From there you will need to use the stylesheet to position your items.

Finally you can add content to the page. This content can go into existing divs(or some other html item on the page) to overlap backgrounds or in new items.

I doubt this helped, with some code I may be able to provide more assistance.

Yep, as Fyzbo eluded to, you need to make the images that are intended to be overlaid with content backgrounds of the elements that will contain the content (text, tables, etc).

Post your HTML code and Fyzbo will hook you up.

Peace...
