Problem with the loading first page of website
Hi,

i am facing this problem after applying a new design. goto http://www.cartradeindia.com/

when you first open the site , it loads very slow taking more than 5 secs , but there is no such scripts that can make it slow. only first page, after loading of first page, if you browse through any of the links it is very faster. even if you click on home link it is loading very faster. i can't understand what is causing the problem on first load. if there is some problem on the server side then that should repeat for everypage or atleast for home page link. there is no problem with database or other things. which can make it slower. i think it is the browsers only which causing problem.
Please help me.

Thanking You,
Satish.K

All of the pages load about the same for me. You may be noticing this due to browser caching.

You homepage:
Empty Cache
29.2K 1 HTML document
44.6K 2 Style Sheet Files
80.2K 12 JavaScript Files
67.4K 14 Images
17.2K 17 CSS Images
238.9K Total size
46 HTTP requests

Primed Cache
29.2K 1 HTML document
0.0K 2 Style Sheet Files
0.0K 11 JavaScript Files
0.0K 2 CSS Images
29.2K Total size
16 HTTP requests

So all of those images and external files can take extra time to load the first time around.

To test yourself you may want to check out Firebug and YSlow(two firefox extentions).

Exactly. The first time I loaded the home page, it took 10.5 seconds. The second time, it took 1.41 seconds.

Peace...

Hi,

thanks for the reply,

how to make the browser cache all images, it is slower even when we click refresh button.

please go through this url for this time http://www.cartradeindia.com/?test=test

it won't load css and all design related images. but even slower .

how to make the browser cache downloaded javascript, css and images files . it should not take time when we press refresh. IE6 and IE7 not at all caching anything everytime they are loading again. firefox is somewhat faster.

what should we do to make this site work well. a new simple design ?

Thanking you very much,
Satish.K

You should check your Internet connection speed by using a site like DSL Reports or SpeedTest.net. Your current home page (without being cached in my browser) loaded in 3.7 seconds just now. With it cached, it loaded it 0.74 seconds. Your Internet connection speed might be *your* particular bottleneck vs there being something "wrong" with your site.

Are your users complaining about the loading speed of your site as well?

Peace...

Glad you got the problem resolved!
