Solved: CSS Div Layout Instruction
What is a good book or website on designing tableless layouts? I'm feeling the need to be a little "cleaner" when designing our sites.

I often visit Stu Nicholl's CSS Play site for examples of different CSS layouts. I've used one of his for a website I updated for someone.

Peace...

When I made the swap from tables, the best way I found to get to grips with it was just to look at the code behind existing CSS sites. I'd save the pages in my browser, then open up the files in Dreamweaver so I could see exactly what does what. You can also make changes and experiment with parameters to see what effect they have.

A good site to start looking at would be CSS Zen Garden

If you ever get stuck with anything, sites like TSG and CSS Play are good places to go for help or ideas. The hardest thing you'll find at first is getting your layouts to behave across different browsers, but it does get easier the more you do it!

If you want to do a full tableless site, take the site of your best client and start to convert it over. You're already familiar with the site and its layout, and it's making your client's site better at the same time

So, you really wouldn't recommend any books?

In my experience, O'Reilly books are very well written and easy to follow. I've not read a CSS one, but I do have a few of their books on other subjects, so I can't recommend a specific book for you but the publisher is a good one
