Last I checked paypal can provide a checkout system, but not a shopping cart. You need a system to let users add items to a shopping cart and then send the details of that cart to paypal for checkout.

there are many free/open source shopping carts available. You need to check what will work with your hosting. What server side languages and databases are available?

I would contact your host's support and ask if you have access to asp.net 2.0 and an MS Sql Database. If they are available you can find some free commerce websites here: http://asp.net/community/projects/

Here is what the Host Co I was going to use said:
With regards to your query, ASP.NET 2.0/.NET Framework is only included with the 1&1 MS Business, MS Business Pro and Professional shared hosting packages and the said packages have MSSQL supported.
So the basic package I was going to use doesn't look like it supports. Any suggestions on other places?

I don't know of any hosts that I find so good to recommend. icdsoft.com is good for linux hosting. There are many other threads in this forum talking about hosts,

Hi,

If you sign up for the "Website Payments Standard" method with paypal, they do provide a free "cart".

See here: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/we...erview-outside

Anthony
