Does anyone know how to send text messages over the internet? I have a client that wants to create a database of fans, then send free ring tones and information to them via their cell phones. Is this even possible? Economical?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The easies way I've seen is to send it to the numbers email address. Most carriers set up an email for each cell phone (ie tmobile: PhoneNumber@tmomail.com). You may need to ask for their cell provider for it to work, or you could send it to all of them and just get a lot of bounced messages :/
