html logo help
This is more or less a web design question, I was wondering if anyone was interested in creating a logo for this gaming clan I am in... I am really bad at art and need some sort of expert help with designing one. I ask you this, can you please create this html logo for me? >.<
Thanks,
Will

I can create a logo for you, let me know what game it should look like, or upload a drawing for me that I can replicate.

If you want I can PM you my website that you can upload a drawing or partial logo to so I can get started.

Obviously you don't game, I mean those are pretty lame, logos like that would make that clan a laughing stock!

Try on this for a sample, remember, I built this after my last post and it very raw....

Well how manly of you....You are a manly squashman
Little research into the clan sites and you would have know that text just doesn't cut it.

Ok, so do you have any ideas about the logo/banner?:
Like.....
Have you a screen shot or two that it could be made from?
-- What colors are your website?
--- Any special class of fighter preferred?
---- How wide/tall should the banner be?

Off the top of my head....

I wouldn't even know what to search for. Personally I think he should just learn how to use Gimp. My biggest fear with doing what you are doing is copyright infringement of the images you are using.

Then what is the point of these forums if no one would offer assistance other than to tell someone to use something else, after all, almost every post here has solutions (code, html, editing how to's etc) to someones quest for help, hell, you even created some very disturbing images to help out, now you change your mind and tell him to do it himself???

There is no copyright infringement involved here as there is no reselling or re branding going on.

You just want to keep riding me over those simple images I created. I actually used 3 different websites to create those images. Certainly nothing disturbing about them.

Have you ever heard the saying "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink" or "Give a man a fish..........Teach a man to fish......."

You are basically giving him the fish. Now Teach him how to fish!

When giving advice on the forums, it try to live by another saying "God helps those who help themselves." Though I am not much of a church going person, I just say "I can only help those who help themselves."

We are slowly turning into a world where everybody wants everything for free and done for them for free because we have the great expanse of Information that we can access instantaneously.

My wife certainly isn't computer illiterate, she knows office better than me. But she asked me a couple of months ago what was a good alternative to Photoshop because her company couldn't afford to buy that. I told her about Gimp. She has never used PhotoShop and is now pretty darn proficient with Gimp. Alot better than I will probably ever be.

Now I don't know what you used to create those images and they look very nice but do you seriously have to continue to belittle me over something that is so minute to the overall picture. Being "Manly" has nothing to do with this.

Well I think we are getting a little bit offtrack, first off, I only asked for help because I thought you all were experts at making very nice logo's, I can make one myself no doubt using online programs. Do not assume please that I am just "one of those people" that wants free online resources handed to them. You could have simply said no do it yourself, unless that is what you are implying. I have done it myself but as gaming becomes more of a life-engulfing factor for me I would like to see some expert help =) ... I mean I was hoping while someone gave me a logo, they could also help me out by telling me how they created that logo as well. I don't mean to make it seem as if I am taking the easy way out. Thanks

Hey, don't worry, you have absolutely nothing wrong. These forums are designed to help people, not tell them to go elsewhere and do it themselves, read through them and you will see tons of code snippets and images,.forms etc helping people. Don't let someone get you down on yourself, we all (as an online community) will get you through this.
