Mysql question
I am learning database with mysql and Php. I have beed able to get the site up and running but then I get the following error.

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Host 'host1.waveswire.com' is blocked because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'

I have tried the "flush-hosts" but it says wrong syntex. I am using Mysql 4.1 and that should be correct syntex. I also tried to increase attempts with script but also get same error.
I may not have correct global permissions but am not sure as I also can not give myself that permission. I have contacted my ISP but have not had response as yet as to weather that is something they have to do.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

prob solved partly
I was able to solve the problem with help of ISP as follows.

I had host set to domain name so it was hammering as a tcp-type connection. I set it and the forums to localhost and they come up now.

Still do understand why I couldnt run flush hosts unless as mentioned it is a shell CMD and I cant do that from cpanel

thanks
Bruce
