Solved: Setting Up Joomla
Hi guys,

I need help setting up joomla. Joomla is a content management system for those who dont know. I need help setting it up. If someone can help me with this please reply back or pm me.

Hi.

Welcome to TSG.

Joomla would be one of the easiest installations going around.

You can get the manual in pdf format from the Joomla site.

In the meantime, here is how you get it up and running.

Create a database, and then upload all the Joomla files either to your root or to the preferred folder.

Now it is simply typing the url and you should have the installation process commence.

Read it carefully and follow the instructions and all should be smooth.

In regard any other hacks and mods after that, there is so many possibilities to this CMS, I would seriously consider going through the manual and try things out.

Also if your host supports it. there is the optin of auto installing joomla (currently versions up to 1.0.15) with fantastico.

Joomla 1.5 is reported to be vailable soon. although netenburg site did say jan/feb but it's now june!!
