Question Need to create a book cover image for my website.
Hello Everyone,

Since I am not very computer literate, I was wondering is there some free or low coast website where I can create or have made an image of a book or a booklet cheap or easy? I wrote an instructional manual, and I just need to have an image of a book or booklet created so that I can just have the name of my manual on such a book or booklet image. I only need for the image to about 3" x 2". As think this image would enhance and compliment the text on my website as I try to market and sell my manual, over the Internet.

Any suggestions?

Max

are you perhaps looking for something like these google image results?

http://images.google.com/images?hl=e...d%3A+open+book

i used the search terms: "background book" and "background open book"

essentially, an image/photo/drawing of a book/open book or book cover, so you can place your text on top of it?

Thank you Tact. What you have described would basically be what I am looking for. I have seen those images before, however I do not know how I would place my text on top of images like that. Since I am not very computer literate, I do not know if there would be an easy way for me to put my text on a clipart photo. Any suggestions?

Probably the easiest way would be to set the image as the background on a div and then position your text within the div using padding.

yep. if you find one you like that you want to use, i wouldn't mind setting up the "boxes" which would contain your text.

or you can go the image editing route, by opening up the image in a program like Paint, or photoshop or similar, that allow you to type in words, and then re-save the image so that you have a new picture with the changes you made to it.

might be another option for you.

If you have photoshop you can use This Script to create a very professional book cover for you.

I am sorry Everyone, I have been offline for a few days. Now I am back. “Happy 4th of July Everyone!”

Thank you for your help, Colinsp, yet since I am not computer literate, I am unclear about your suggestions. I am afraid that I am in the ultra basic, elementary, ultra user friendly category when it comes to trying to do things on my computer.

Thanks for the offer, Tact. I will send you a private message, for additional help.

Techmonkeys, I do have “Paint”, but I have no idea how to use it. I experimented with it for almost any hour today, however I can not seem to edit my sample photos the way I would like. Yet I do not have Photoshop.

Hiya,
if you tell me the photo you want to use and the text with which font and size you want I'll mock it up for you in photoshop.

If you don't like it I won't be offended.....much lol

Thanks Tony oh,

I am very sorry to respond back to you so late in the month, however I had to put this project on hold due to work and a family emergency.

I greatly appreciate your offer to help me very, very much. At this point, Tact offered to help me on this project, and I just contacted him earlier today. So at this point, hopefully he will be able to add the text to my clipart.

Yet thank you very much for the offer of help, I greatly appreciate it.
