ooh. lots of options and roads you can take.

if you'd like to learn how websites are made to make them yourself, i could link you some html guides online. w3schools, webmonkey, htmldog

or if you'd like to just get a site up without really learning much of how it's running, perhaps some CMS's would be nice? wordpress, greymatter, joomla, drupal?

if you could be more specific as to what your ultimate goal is with this, we might be of more help.

A tons work you know. You must learn many things about web designing. Also you'll need a HOST for the site. so I think you should start with HTML designing JAVA script designing and other web designing tools.

Hm.. maybe for starters try to perform a Blog site and test on how can you make it popular. That test will make you learn on how to pull people's interest on going to the site that you are going to make. Make sure that the blog that you are going to make is related to he site that you have planned.

Could you not look up a site like template monster, to give you ideas as to how you want it to look. Then either get a web guy to do it, or learn how to do it yourself. You could use a WYSIWYG design package like DreamWeaver.

One Place I can think of is go to www.weebly.com - this is a Drag and Drop Web design package - they host it and the best part it is FREE

Go have a look and see what you think

Creating a "good" website will require time, which is hard to designate without a purpose or form of motivation.

While mine isn't up & running, JUST YET, I decided to create one to gather some information which I was surprised I couldn't find else where.

Think about what your interested in, and what people with similar interests are missing & base it on that. You'll enjoy the whole process so much more with a purpose.

OTHERWISE you'll loose motivation, giveup & your work to that point will feel like a waste.

Good luck.

Well there is also a last line for it if you want to. You can just hire someone that could help you out start up the site and start to run your business.
