Help Designing Slide Presentation Email for Band promo package
Hi, I don't know if this is the right category. But I would like to design a Band promo email. I would like the email to consist of a slide presentation with video and music clips. I have Microsoft Publisher and Powerpoint and have designed some of what I want but they don't open when I email them to my brother who has an IMAC because he doesn't have Microsoft Publisher. I just downloaded Open Office. I don't know which program to design the Promo Email in.

The finished product would be an email that is presented in slide show format. A Title page that shows for 10 seconds, a bio page, a page for video and song clips and/or any existing links. I don't understand the way the programs save the data and if the programs are needed to open the email. I have designed websites and used ftp to upload data years ago so I understand some things but the email thing has got me stumped.

I was even considering a plain email page that shells out to a small website that has the data. In other words the emailer would be just a title page with a link to the web page.

My problem is not knowing what program to design all this in that will be cross browser compatible. I have office 2003 and when I tried to publish the slide show file to the web it wouldn't open because it said it was saved in a format that was current but could not display the existing data because it was outdated.(Something similar to that). I have the design knowledge but not the program resources unless the Open Office Suite can handle the task or do I need other resources. I know html basics and CSS basics, enough to design.

Are there any free existing programs similar to Microsoft Publisher or Adobe Dreamweaver that I could obtain to help me in my task. I also have graphics design knowledge from Corel Draw. I have been away from my computer for a year and have missed a lot of developments. A lot of new products and technology have been implemented. I am trying sort of catch up on things. I just installed Java developers kits. I also have hosting with IPower.

Any reccommendations would be appreciated.
