Character Database
Ok, so i've searched all over the net with no results, so as always i'm back to tech guy with some question...

I'm working on an online free form rpg, but i'm having some trouble with the site... I want to build a character creation page that will automatically add the created character to a brows-able alphabetized database.

I'm not a skilled web designer, i'm more the type of guy who can manipulate something into what he wants once the foundation is laid out.

so as a recap, i need a registration page with stuff such as..

Character name
Age
Background

then its submitted to a database, i don't want the user to be able to change any of the information themselves once it is submitted, except maybe the background story of their character... but it does need to be editable by administrators for progression.

Thanks.

From what I gather, what you're after is pretty simple....

You'd echo a form from the PHP for the visitor to fill in, then on submit write it to a database. The structure of the database would presumably be dictated by the rest of the game.
