Frontpage images not appearing on web.
OP Sys is windows xp. i am using frontpage 2003 and office 2007.

when i insert a pic (jpg or gif) into a web page the preview in browser does not show the pic. sometimes when i copy and paste a pic, it works, but no consistancy.

sometimes when it shows in preview in browser i upload to the server and then it disappears.

It wasn't always this way.
I've tried reinstalling both FP 2003 and office 2007, but it still does (or doesn't) work.

Please help.

Thanks,

Mike Talerico

Are those images placed inside your website's root folder?
Those two reasons images do not show are:
1) they are not uploaded to the server
2) the path of the image relative to the file on the server is not properly defines.

Let me add a possible reason #3 that has happened to me on more than one occasion. Somewhere in the process of editing a local copy of a site in FP2003, the case for the file name extension will change from something like .jpg to .JPG but the link in the web page is still lower case. The picture may still show up when previewed locally but not when on the server.

I tried #1, 2, $ 3 with no positive results. I found the problem by accident. I checked Picture Properties, filetype and saw that the extension was set to GIF rather than jpg. I clicked jpg and everthing worked fine.

Thank you both,

Mike
