Um...now what?? More webdesign Q's
Well, now that I've moved my entire site BACK to one of the earlier hosts (nothing else has worked out!! always a disaster, so I'm a prodigal) and things are well under way and getting toward completion (at least in the "static" form I've always used...at least it has been functioning!), I happened on a fantastic site where a great many other websites are linked...which feature large full-page background images. I see a few that would be wonderful for my needs, simple and basic though they are. Nothing like a little flash and dash to pep things up, though, agreed??

Trouble is, I haven't a blind clue where to begin. I look at the source pages and it's all Chinese to me. So frustrating. Since I figured out how to get my simple little css layout to work (even though I agree, there are flaws), I think I know maybe 2 percent more about css than I did a few months ago, lol. But this is only a drop in the proverbial bucket, not anywhere close to what I would have to know to implement a style like those beautiful sites linked to this URL:

http://www.webdesignerwall.com/trend...ound-websites/

I'm still wondering how to design other site pages to "match up" with a really fancy homepage, as well... What I have at the present is a mismatched hodgepodge, but that's all I've known how to do for all these years.

Yes I realize, I should be "training" myself in css design. But it would take a long time to learn all I need to know...

The basic idea behind CSS is that every page on your website should be linking to or importing the same CSS code. That way, every page will be using the same style. For example, you should have something like this in your page headers:
Code:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/style.css" media="screen,projection,tv" />

Yes, I read that somewhere, and I remember it said you can control all the pages on a site with a single CSS code. How wonderful that would be! On another forum I happened on a link to a site that has a most basic css layout that IMO would be useful if adapted to my own simple needs. I'm going back to look at the other pages on that site and see what they've done there...

Right now, as I said, I have a slightly better understanding of how css functions. But I've been focusing on mainly the homepage and the stylesheet that goes with it, not really delving further into how a 'good' website ought to look otherwise.
