Unhappy cant accsess my url but others can????
hi all,

my website was finished yesterday and the team that did it did a good job, when they type in my url everything comes up fine, i have tried it on 3 different friends computers and sure enough it comes straight up, when i type it in from my computer nothing only server not found. i can access all other urls except the new one only from my pc.i was told to do an ipconfig /flushdns i ran this but came back an error unrecognised or incomplete command line, every one else can simply type in my url and the website is up and running, but from my own pc nothing,,,rightly confused,,,,can anyone help....thanks

Have you recently got the domain for this new website? If so, can you see it with the "http://www.test.com" or without it "http://test.com"? If it turns out that you can see it properly WITHOUT the "www" then that would mean that your domain name hasn't fully resolved. This process can take anything from 5-10 seconds to 72 hours.

Then you did it wrong, or were told wrong. What OS are you running on your PC?

unrecognised or incomplete command line is what ipconfig returns when it doesn't understand the argument (/flushdns), so check that bit's correct.

Where is the website hosted? Can you ping the domain name of the server? Can you look up the IP address (nslookup <domain name>? Can you ping the IP address?
