Simple HTML mobile app using Foursquare API
I want to update my location using an app that will only go onto my phone and therefore can store my username and password. But this is the only code i could seem to come up with and its not working, any ideas why?
Code:
<form action="http://api.foursquare.com/v1/checkin" method="POST" enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded">

<input type="hidden" name="phone_or_email" value="{email}" />

<input type="hidden" name="password" value="{password}" />

Location <input type="text" name="venue"/>

<input type="submit" value="Send!" /></form>

Just tossing a question out there for you... Instead of writing a quickie app for foursquare to use on your mobile phone why don't you just use the SMS feature of their website where you can text your location to a designated number and it automatically updates your location? I unfortunately don't have that number off hand to give you, but it should be on their site. Also, depending on the type of phone you have you can use their mobile site.

I'll check the code against their API when I get home (currently at work and can't get to the site) and see if your code works out, although I've never used their API.

EDIT: Have you looked at http://groups.google.com/group/fours...-documentation It appears that you may not be able to do what you were asking. I still think the easiest way to update your location would be using the SMS feed (text to 50500 and put the following in "@PLACE YOU'RE AT ! MESSAGE YOU WANT" without the quotes) or you could use their mobile site at http://www.4sq.com/mobile/
