Publisher 07 Problem
Hi guys,

I have been building a website on publisher, it's a pretty simple one. Anyways, I finished it, and it looks good on the web page preview, but when i upload it to the ftp, it comes out looking really wierd and the pictures don't show up. It's driving me crazy. I have tried several different browers and the page is looking the same on all of them. The address to the site is www.bcalaw.us
Any help would be great
Thanks
Brian

Publisher sucks. I would say read up on html. http://www.w3schools.com/html/. Also, what are you trying to do ? If it simple, html should be fine. If you think about some scripting then, i think publisher or dream weaver or open source apt would do but even then coding is the best way.

I would say, try this for example:

If I was looking to put a picture up i would google the html code for puting up a picture.
Looking at the syntax of the html statment edit to your liking.
Code:
  <IMG SRC="example.gif" ALT="example">

Good luck. Google is your friend.

Given your type of business you need a professional website that shows you at your best to your potential clients. IMHO this is not something that you should attempt yourself particularly with Publisher. Your business would be better served with a professional looking site designed and built by a professional in web design. You may find someone in a local business group trying to develop their business like you are and this would be a better bet than a DIY job.

I would have to agree with colinsp. But, I did try accessing one of your images directly: http://www.bcalaw.us/index_files/image3901.gif. When you view page info, it does identify itself as an image, but I don't know why it's just showing the URL there. Also, when I go to http://www.bcalaw.us/index_files, there is a 403 forbidden error. I presume the permissions for that directory are the culprit. Try setting the permissions to 0777 just for now, and see if that fixes things.
