System XP
My problem is with Skype
I have several contacts I cannot Skype as they are not shown as being not on line.
I have contacted them by land line phone, and they tell me they are on line, their screen tells them that I am not on line.
Skype works OK on the Echo test, they are shown as being on line OK.Yet several of my contacts are shown as not.
I have contacted Skype for help and followed all of their instructions to check out settings etc etc.....,I have done likewise with my ISP and all is OK there.
I thought that if a contact is on line then a green tick appears alongside the contact, instead of the greyed out cross.
When I do skype them it shows "call failed".
Can anyone HELP please.
Thanks

I have found this, although you may have too but here goes "contacts are normally saved in config.sys and if your are on version 1.2. on Skype server

To be found in
C:
Documents and settings
Your profile name
Application data
Skype
Skype User name
config.xml

Be sure, that you can see hidden files! -->unhide

if this config.sys is corrupt and you can't use it ,
you must open it and extract the contacts manually"
