I have a sony vaio with the I5 processor, windows 7 business with office word and excel 2010 and outlook 2003. Here is my problem, I cannot receive any mail in outlook. I get an error message 0x800408fc server name cannot be found. I have checked gmail and I can receive everything , the test sends the email, but it goes only to my Gmail account and it is not received in my outlook. I have rechecked to make sure the settings are right in outlook and they are. I am at my wits end trying to figure this one out. Any ideas??

So you're trying to set up Outlook to send and receive messages with your Gmail account? Did you enable POP or IMAP access on the account? Which did you configure in Outlook?

I have it set up as a POP3, and I checked and have the correct settings for POP.

Go through the settings again, and make sure you have enabled POP access in your Gmail account settings on the website.

Did it, no change. Weird thing is I can send but not receive.
