has it ever worked before? Where do you live; is it possible that your ISP is blocking it?

Well, I'm afraid Facebook was banned in India last March. Not sure if it still is, but I'll try to find out. If it still is, I'm sorry to say that we won't be able to help you circumvent the ban.

but how is that so.. as all my friends are using it!
the thing is that it's not opening on my pc
my internet connection is good and all sites open easily
m using mozilla firefox browser.. and when i try 2 access facebook, it shows this error!

Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at www.facebook.com.
Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

i haved checked the other address www.fb.com still is not working :\
even i used google chrome n IE browsers too, still it's not opening!

I think you'll need to ask your friends how they're doing it... We can't, as it's against our rules.

However, I'm still trying to get the right information on the ban situation in India.

India is known to implement censorship. They may change the list of blocked sites daily. We have no way of knowing.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intern...rship_in_India

Your ISP might just decide one day to block it as well.

You're asking a technical question that doesn't have a technical answer. Maybe it's blocked today by your ISP or the government. Maybe it's unblocked tomorrow by your ISP, and the government just blocks certain sites. Who knows. They don't have to tell you, and they don't have to follow any rules.

Talk to your friends in India. Obviously they know much more about what's going on in your country than we do in the western world.

It isn't actually FB banned (as a whole), it's about 80 pages that are considered to hold inflammatory content. Ranging from FB to twitter to google and others.

...........changing nothing in the fact that we cannot help here.

Something just occurred to me.

If all Facebook pages aren't loading, please answer the following:

What's your network adapter's make and model?

If it's a Realtek, try updating the driver.

If that's not it, I'm afraid you'll have to talk to your ISP.

Same thing just happened to me and all I did was clear my history, cache, cookies and at the top on the tab I was showing a ripped page so I clicked on it and Facebook started working once again. Sounds weird but try it out.
