Solved: Facebook access problems
Please see the copy below. It describes my problem exactly but does not seem to have been answered in the forums. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Solved: Facebook Account Settings is missing - cannot log out
Urgent: Something very strange is happening to my Facebook page. There is NO Account Settings link at top right corner, or anywhere else on page. Just shows my name and Home. I am unable to log out or do anything in my account. What does this mean? How do I correct? I am working from a MacAir with most recent operating system. Also tried logging on with a different computer (a PC) and having same result. (Have used both computers many times with Facebook working correctly until now.)

There is NO downward pointing triangle (or any drop down menu, icon, or link) on my screen at all. Only shows my photo, name, and home, which sends me back to homepage[/B]. Has Facebook locked me out somehow? Has anyone else encountered this? I have written FB multiple times with out response, as always.

Morny please read the thread that you linked to
It hasn't solved the problem or at least the poster hasn't come back to say if it worked by changing to time line instead of the old system with FB

try going direct to https://www.facebook.com/#!/settings when logged in

Hi Derek. Your suggestion to "go direct" when logged in ALMOST worked. The page where I can edit my settings appears for a split second.... and then disappears. The screen then immediately reverts back to the same blank white screen that prompted me to seek help. And you're correct, the original post that Morny directed me to, never did resolve the problem. Any other ideas??

which browser is this happening in
is it IE or firefox or chrome
do you have any ad blocking software on the computer

I doubt it is malware related but these logs should give me an indication if there is a setting or security program on your computer causing it

follow advice here and post the logs those programs make

It's happening in Safari. I am using an ad blocking software called "Ad Block". I was running it during and before this problem arose. It had never caused a problem before. If you suspect that that is the issue, I'll kill it. I'll wait until you respond before I do that though. It works very well on all other sites... why would Facebook be any different?
The site you asked me to go to, is useless to me. I can't open an .exe file on a Mac.

if you are using a Mac & Safari, then there is nothing I can do

It is quite likely that it is a facebook problem where the page headers aren't being read correctly or something similar
Try turning off the ad blocker to see if it works. Sometimes some ad blockers make a mistake & block non ads on a site becasue the image or code displaying the page, is actually sited on a site that is listed as an ad
Facebook unfortunately dispaly most im,ages & icons via javascript in teh same way as many ads are , so that can fool a lot of ad blockers
Other than that, try using a windows based computer & IE or chrome from your IP address to see if it is being blocked somehow

I turned off Ad Block and the page just popped up without a hitch. I never would have guessed that that could've been the problem. Thanks very much for your assistance.
