IE msg - "Done, with error on page"
Recently I have noticed that when I open IE 6.0 and go to the Home page or many other pages I get a message in the bottom left hand corner "Done, but with errors on the page". When I look at the details I see "Object expected.... "

I have a feeling it is a problem with the settings in IE Internet Options, but I am not sure.

I use Win 98SE on a PIII/800 with 256 Mb of RAM.

Any help would be appreciated

I've found it to be more along the lines of problems with the site, or a problem with your account on that site.

Just my 2 cents worth

Thanks, RandyG.

The only thing is that it is now happening at all URLs and also that it only started recently. It seems to have been since I installed the latest MS IE "critical" patch Q832894 a few days ago. I have just revisited the MS site and now see that the vulnerability does not affect Win 98.

There is an uninstall option in Add/Remove so I might just uninstall the patch and see what happens.

I hear this particular patch has been causing problems for IT staff as it seems to affect their companies' content management systems. Some IT people - see latest issue of 'Scot's Newsletter' for details - are uninstalling it until MS issues yet another patch! The old story!

Well, ]that patch could very well be the culprit. It was designed to stop potentially malicious code from running, but we all know that can be a very hard thing to determine.

Give me a link to one of the sites you are referring to, adn I can at least try it with my updated IE and Win2k machine, and see if I get any script errors.

Pm or post a link to a site that you get the errors on.

Are they sites that you have to log into, or open to general public?

Are they https sites??

Ok, do me a favor . . . log out of the site and then visit that link again, and see if there are any errors on the page.

I'm not getting them, so it's definitely your IE, or your account.
