Well, I'm no expert, but as I was reading your post, it occurred to me that you might be running Zone Alarm, and then kept reading and saw you are. I had this problem with Zone Alarm, too.
Try uninstalling it and see if that helps. If it does, perhaps you can do better than I did at figuring how to configure it so it doesn't prevent you in this way. It was waaaaaaay over my head!
Good luck. Quote: |

Anyways the problem has persisted and my internet works fine, I can use AIM and everything but still cant connect to a bunch of websites.
At first I thought it was a DNS issue with my ISP, but now I believe it was those viruses. Could somebody please help me identify this problem, and resolve it?
I am running XP Pro SP2, all updates installed. The latest verson of Zone Alarm Pro. I update and run Ad-Aware and Spybot regularly and it finds nothing. McAfee is no longer detecting the viruses I cleaned and deleted. I have the latest version of Firefox and use it exclusively. I have tried flushing my dns, renewing my IP address, clearing browser cache, everything. I am convinced it is from the virus. PLEASE HELP! | |
