How to transfer Netscape 7 email to Outlook 2003 on new computer
My father has purchased a new computer. On the new computer he has Outlook 2003. On his old computer he was using Netscapes (I think Netscape 6.0) built in email for his email account. How do I transfer his old email and address book to the new computer? What are the file names, where would I find them and where would I place them on the new computer??

Thanks so much for your help!!

Hi senna

I don't have Netscape 6.0 to look at.

In Netscape's Tools menu is there an option to Export?

If not, see if the solution at this thread helps:

It is a bit complicated, if you decide to try and need assistance, let us know where you are at in the process, and we'll jump in to help.

Hi hewee

Do you also have Netscape Communicator installed on your system?
Which version of Netscape Communicator do you have?
If so, do you also have any of the higher of versions of Netscape installed?

Have you had good results with Importing/Exporting mail using Netscape Communicator?

I currently have Netscape 7.2 installed, I may try uninstalling it and installing Netscape Communicator to see what results I get.

I still use Netscape 7.02 (SillyDog Streamline) version.
http://sillydog.org/narchive/sd/702.html

They have all the versions over here.
http://sillydog.org/narchive/

So have not yet moved up to other version but I should as there are faster ones.

I did import email from netscape 4.7 to Netscape 7.02 but I had to do it more then once.
I ready forget just how I did it now but I may of I think just used Netscape 4.7 and made a old Netscape 4 email folder in it's email program and then moved the email to it. Then I just copied the folder from the profile and added it to Netscape 7.02 profile to get it to show up. It was years ago so hard to remember just what I did. Just deleted Netscape 4.7 a couple months ago as it was just taking up space and not getting used.

Anyhow read up on doing a Clean Install at the link in the above post.
Do your backups first of your profile so if you screw up anything you can always start over and don't have to worry about losing anything.
