Certain gif. files won't load.
I work off of an Dell Dimension 4100, XP, using IE and Firefox.
Problem: Certain pictures, mostly gif. will show as broken. I have tried evrything pertaining to the firewall with no luck. I also do not have any spyware programs running in the background trying to block these images. I have completely uninstalled both and reinstalled with no luck either. I really notice this problem on Yahoo!'s main page, specifically the banner. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

You've provided all the needed information but I don't understand what you mean. Could you post some details? What do you mean mostly gif? How do you know they are not JPG or BMP? What do you mean by broken?

As to the Yahoo! website...you mean the word Yahoo! doesn't show? (The word Yahoo! is one .gif file by itself)

When I view certain web pages, depending on the page, a few pictures will not show up. From what I found out you can easily do a right click/properties on each picture that won't load. The pictures turn out to be mostly GIF files. On www.yahoo.com the Yahoo! at the top center hasn't appeared in months. It just shows it's a broken link and won't display any image. This happens both in Firefox and IE, also I downloaded Opera and same problem. Cnet's website is the worst with most of the page not displaying at all except for the text.
