IE7 issue using CTRL key
Ive had a strange issue since upgrading to IE7. Almost seems like i have Sticky Keys on, but I checked and I dont.
Issue is if I am on a site using a pick list and I want to highlight more than one option, I hold down the CTRL Key and go to click to make another pick, but instead a new window opens and goes to my homepage.
For Example, goto This Site ( i promise I am not trying to sell anything)
Goto the Box titled "Type". By default "All" is highlighted

Any ideas? Seems like CTRL + Left Mouse Click = open new window. But say for these purposed I want to select one or two more options in that box, so I hold down the CTRL key and left click on "Residential.." but instead of becoming highlighted a new tab/window opens.

Does this happen to anyone else? I know others that it does and other that it does not, but i have yet to find a common thread.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't want to try an alternative browser, like Firefox or Opera, or go back to IE6 until 7 has become more reliable (relatively speaking), you could try looking here; http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html

Mouse settings
Try opening your Keyboard and Mouse settings. Many manufacturers such as Logitech have default settings such as this. Usually they are accessed from an icon in the Status tray.

My current Logitech combination doesnt have this as a default but a previous mouse did, think it was a GE mouse but memory is only a wonderful thing when you have it and can remember details

Discovered the same problem on my system. This is a conflict between IE7 and the Nvidia Desktop Manager.

I went to the control panel and slected Nvidia and disabled the Nvidia Destktop Manager. Back to IE7 and control - left click worked properly again.

Smile Worked for me
Thank you. Turning off the nView option in the NVIDIA Media Center solved the IE7 CTRL key issue for me.

Diabling NVIDI desktop mgr
On my system there is an icon in the tray (the lower righthand portion of the screen) that displays the words "NVIDIA Media Center" when I hover over it with the mouse pointer. Right clicking on that icon brings up a small window with several menu items. One of them is "nView Desktop Manager" with a right pointing arrow at the end of the line. Hovering over that brings up another window with several choices. The two relevant here are "Enable nView" and "Disable nView". The one with the check mark is the one currently active. Mine is disabled now. It was enabled when I was having the control key problems in Internet Explorer 7.
