Host Your Own Domain Name
Hey there!
Is there any way that I can host my own domain name, instead of getting a company? I don't mind getting a server.
Thanks!

Hello,
Remember running a server of any kind at home is a security risk.
I used Internet Information Services (IIS) which came installed on my Windows Vista PC.
You can check to see if you have it installed by going to > Start > Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows Features on and Off > IIS
You will need to get DNS service from somewhere... I used ZoneEdit.com which is a free!
You have to register a domain name with a registrar of course and some registrars offer free DNS managment like Mydomain.com
Create an A record pointing to your IP address; wait for propagation which take 4-6 hours
Good Luck!
