Solved: Windows Mail
I just got a new computer and it has windows vista on it. I am still learnign it all. I set up my windows mail on it, and it receives my emails just fine. However, if i go to send an email, I get this error message

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was ------------. Subject 'Re: CPR / AED Class', Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '530 5.5.1 Authentication Required f77sm12430394pyh.32', Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Any ideas on how to fix it??

Hi lilnuurse

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Have you enabled Forwarding and POP at Gmail?
Also, verify your settings using Gmail's configuration section, use Outlook Express as the e-mail client since they don't have Windows Mail listed yet.

Let us know if that helps or not.

Thank you so very much. I had it disabled. However, I know really nothing about this, and it asks for an email address to forward a copy of incomming mail. What email address do i put for that. Why do i want it forwarded somewhere? I'm sorry if that is a realy stupid question.

Keep the Forwarding and IMAP options Disabled.

If you want to forward a copy of your Gmail messages to an additional e-mail account, you would fill in that e-mail address in the Forwarding section.

You should be all set now.
