Email hyperlink problem
I would appreciate some advice.

I sent out an email and it contained a link to my site.
I typed www.christian-housesitters.com and that is what showed as a hyperlink in the email. However when the other party tried to open the link it failed. We checked and it is trying to open
wlmailhtml:{32774543-086F-488F-8204-3D5C0A3DBA1D}mid://00000014/!x-usc:http://www.christian-housesitters.com/

How and why did the address get changed?

How can i prevent it in future?

I am using win xp and my mail client is windows live desktop.

Hard to say for sure...links are interpreted differently by different email programs. I think you did the right thing and I wouldn't worry about it overall. If your Windows Live Mail has an "Insert Link" option on the Toolbar, try it instead of just typing it in as you did. You can also try adding the http:// to the beginning of your address.

The key is to remember that when you type a link on your end, every email program will interpret what it sees a little differently. I guess one other way you can try and thwart what Windows Live did is typing the HTML code for a link which is: <a href="TYPE YOUR WEB ADDRESS HERE"> TYPE THE NAME OF YOUR SITE HERE </a> You DO have to use the quotes in the first part of the code.

Good luck.
