MS Outlook crashes when I close any AOL email
Hi

I've recently set up my MS Outlook 2003 to receive aol email (i've not used outlook on my home PC before). All seems to work fine and the imap.aol account displays all my e-mails.

Everything look OK - I can view and open an email, its when I close it (either using the 'X' in the top right corner or via 'file', 'close') that problems occur! Every time I close an email, MS Outlook crashes! I get the standard "Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" message

I've tried reloading the software + SP3 pack etc, My virus software is up to date (AVG) and I've tried the outlook repair function - all to no avail - hope someone can help

The error signature says " AppName: outloook.exe AppVer: 11.0.8206.0 AppStamp: 479fce0d ModName: unknown ModVer 0.0.0.0 ModStamp: 00000000 fDebug: 0 Offset: 0013f25f

Very many thanks in advance

Hmmm, this is a new one to me at least. One step I would take to troubleshoot this would be to go to Tools -> Options -> Mail Format and uncheck both "Use Microsoft Office Word to..." lines. If they are already unchecked, check them. Then try opening up some emails and closing them out to see if Outlook crashes.

If the problem persists, look for a solution here:

If you don't find one, make a post about this issue in the Microsoft newsgroups because it might be a bug:
