Cannot browse the internet, error "Address not valid"
Hi,

Its been few weeks and I've not been able to browse any websites from internet explorer. I always get the error "The address is not valid". Moreover, when I type any address in the form www.abc.com it automatically redirects it to http:/// and shows me the error. I've tried other browsers like firefox and safari and still no luck. I can however access the instant messaging applications like g-talk and msn. In addition as per an earlier advice from a friend I've also checked the registry and confirmed that the value for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\DefaultPre fix is set to http://. Also i've ensured that under internet options/LAN settings the "automatically detect settings" is checked, cookies and temp internet files are cleared. Would really appreciate if somone can help me on this.

Thanks a ton!

Have you tried running a virus/spyware/malware check?

Re: Cannot browse the internet, Error "address not Valid"
Hi,

I've not run any virus or malware scans. I've got HijackThis installled from a previous malware issue I had. Do you want me to run the application and post the logs for reference?

Thanks
