Windows Live will not connect to internet
Since Outlook Express is going away June 30th, I've tried to switch to Windows Live. It initally imported my Outlook Express Hotmail accounts and folders, but it can't connect to get new mail. I've tried various connection setting changes without success. What seems strange to me, too, is Outlook Express continues to work and I think I have the connections settings set the same.

I get the follow error error 0x8004108D, protocol NNTP, port 0, secure (SSL) NO:

Any suggestions?

"Since Outlook Express is going away June 30th ..."

Since I've never used it I don't really care, but is this just yours or is it going away from all pre-Vista Windows Operating Systems????

Just because Microsoft is discontinuing its Outlook products doesn't mean you have to switch to Windows Live Mail.

It looks like the error you're receiving has to do with the Network News Transport Protocol, which allows you to read and post to newsgroups.

You should double-check your SMTP/POP3/IMAP/NNTP settings in the Windows Live Mail client application with the configuration instructions provided by your ISP or whoever your email provider is.

I never used the Windows Live Mail email client, so I can't tell you for sure. I know that in Outlook you would go to Tools -> Options -> Email Accounts, then select your account and choose Change.

I was able to find these:

http://wlmailclient.spaces.live.com/

http://emailsupport.spaces.live.com/

Good luck.
