slow internet
for the past 2 days my internet connection has been really slow specificaly ive noticed it in using youtube it can take over half an hour to load a 10 minute clip im using a cable modem and until 2 days ago everything was fine i dont think i downloaded any viruses but i dont know is there any way i can check what the problem, is

Let us have some Pc specs..Xp? >hard drive size>free space>installed Ram etc
What Anti-virus and Spyware programs do you have installed>have you scanned your Pc with them?

toshiba satellite a105-s2051 1.7ghz with 75 gig 14.81 free at 19% - 2 sticks of 512 ram although my video card uses some of that and i currently have mcafee virus scan- i think that the problem started after i downloaded hotspot shield from cnet but i removed it and still have this problem

D/load check for updates>scan.

In Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options
General tab.
Under Temporary Internet files, click Delete Files.
Include all offline content.
Delete Cookies.
Under History
Click Clear History.
Run a Ram test.

ive done everything except the ram test as i have no blank cds nor a disk drive but i did notice that at night my speeds are faster however on sites such as youtube and veoh even at night when loading time seems to be faster it will only play the first 2 seconds then stop

Did you make sure you completely uninstalled "i downloaded hotspot shield from cnet "?

Registry cleaners can cause more problems than they solve.
Check what was deleted and use the cleaners undo section and undo any changes that it made and see if that helps.
