Firefox Problem?
Alright...this is a bit odd. Do you know how your computer saves information you type in text boxes (ex. your Facebook login email)?

Well, for some reason, it's logging every single thing I type...and every email I view.

For instance, I changed two members' information on my message board earlier, and now their email addresses are showing up in a drop-down box as saved info on my computer, even when I haven't typed them (just viewed their information in the adminCP).

And so I typed "alcstarheel" in my adminCP on my message board, then looked at his email address. Looked at it, didn't type it.

Well, the email showed in my Facebook drop-down list under "Email" when I was logging in, along with "alcstarheel" as an option as well.

I'm stumped.

That's related to Firefox's ability to save information entered on HTML forms. You can disable that but I don't know if you can control which forms it saves information you enter on or not.

Which version of Firefox are you running?

Peace...

I'm running the most current version (just downloaded it and re-installed it yesterday). I know how to disable all that, I'm just wondering why the heck it's picking up emails I haven't entered (typed), and then those emails I've typed on other pages, but not on that particular page. The first issue, where it's picking up every email addy I view, is most annoying. I view email addresses all the time when I'm managing my message board, so when I go to log in for Facebook, or my own email, or anything asking for a login...I get this HUGE list of drop-downs with multiple emails in them.

Things to try in Options:

Advanced>General tab>uncheck "Search for text when I start typing"

Privacy>History section>Uncheck "Remember what I enter in forms and the search bar"

Privacy>Private Data section>Settings button>check the appropriate entries (I have all but "Saved Passwords" checked)>OK>Clear Now button.
It's up to you if you want to clear everything on exit and/or be asked.

Click OK on the Options after making any changes and restart Firefox.
Hopefully one of them will do it.

The second option worked, throoper, but that's not the solution I was looking for, because I would like for it to remember what I type. I have absolutely no idea how the thing remembers what I view. It's a little creepy.

Would a keylogger do this?

I don't have it remember what I type because I don't like it.
But was inline at a web base email account and doing something else in another window when Firefox crashed.
I said great now I got to redo the long email again. But the session thing not only remember everything. I went to the reply page and what I had typed out was still there. I did not even think it would do that because I always have to login. But it remember everything so that was great.

Yeah. That is kind of an all or nothing option.
At least that works to prune things down once in a while until a better solution can be found.
I would guess it's being cached and being treated as if you had typed it.
Try not saving "Authenticated Sessions" in the Privacy settings.
Is it specific to the one site or does it happen elsewhere as well?

I'm not a security expert, but I would think that's unlikely unless it's a really poor one (a good one will leave practically no trace) and your security is even worse to not pick it up.
It wouldn't hurt to double check it in the Security Forum, though. Peace of mind and all that.

Well, I feel like I know quite a bit about all this stuff since I'm a tech myself...but sometimes, I run into things like this that I really have no answer for. I'm guessing it's just something weird going on...but I did re-install Firefox again after clearing it completely off my computer and from my registry...and so far, everything's good.
