Question Solved: Image On Email
I'd like to paste the actual picture on the email, so receiver doesn't have to open a file attachment. Is this possible?

Thanks much!

Did you solve this yourself? Or didn't you mean to mark this solved?

Sounds like you are talking about embedding or inserting an image into the email?
What email service/email client are you using?

Tks. f/ responding. No, it's not solved: Discovering this website I clicked "solved" in error. Anyway, yes, I'd like to embedd images. I use Yahoo's email and Googles Gmail. I also use OutLook for a private business email address. Thanks again.

If you are using Yahoo webmail, make sure your settings are HTML and not text only. Then copy a picture from the net and paste it in the message area. I have never maintained a photo album, you might be able to copy/paste from that as well. Try your hand at it and then send the email to yourself and see if it works.

Not sure about gmail, maybe works the same. If you are using gmail as POP3 with Outlook or other email client, then see the next line below.

With Outlook Express, you click Insert on the menu and choose a picture from your hard drive - I would think Outlook has a similar option.

VistaRookie, thanks for your responses. I think actual pictures (from camera or MyPictures file) can't be pasted or embedded on a Yahoo! webmail page. I can paste from a website onto my email, but a picture (JPEG or GIF) can't. I even tried pasting from Paint (Accessories application).

Tks. again.

You can't paste from anywhere on your hard drive. You have to put your pictures
on the net. A hosting site such as Photobucket will allow you to paste your
pictures. Or possibly Yahoo photo album? Not sure because I have never tried.

Also, you want to resize photos from your camera so they aren't huge files.
Something in the range of 30,000 to 100,000 bytes is good for email. There
are several programs you can use. A good one is Irfanview. Donationware.

Wow! It works!!! VistaRookie, you're the best! Thanks so very much. I didn't realize you had responded until I went into email, just a bit ago. After my last response here on the Tech Support Guy site, I had thought it just couldn't be done with my email. But it can!

I uploaded my pic to "Flickr" which is Yahoo's new photo hosting site, then copied my picture to the email message and resized it right on the email. Sent the email (copied myself)--and Voila! Done. It looks great . . . and took only a few minutes to do.

Thanks again, very much! This issue/concern is "Solved" for real now. (Smiles) C's G.
