Solved: Firefox will not load
Girlfirend is a regular firefox user.

Prompted for an update..and since the update has not been able to connect to the web with FF.

She tried reinstalling it but this still prevents her from using it

Any suggestions?

Appreciated.

Which operating system is she using? If she's using Windows, what version and which firewall does she have installed?

Peace...

I know ZoneAlarm will block updated programs from accessing the Internet until the user authorizes the updated program to access the Internet. I would look at the Kaspersky firewall configuration to make sure Kaspersky isn't blocking the Firefox update. A "quick and dirty" test is to temporarily turn off the Kaspersky firewall and see if Firefox can access the Internet.

Peace...

I would TURN OFF Kaspersky completely and run a test, just to be sure the firewall isn't blocking it.

Also, look at the Windows Security Center and make sure there is only ONE firewall running. To do this, go to the Security Center in Control Panel and expand the "Firewall" section. If you have only one firewall installed, it will list the name of the firewall (ZoneAlarm, Comodo, Kaspersky, whatever). If there is more than one firewall installed or running, it will say "at least one firewall is running" and won't list any particular firewall.

Peace...

woops.

i was supposed to say she disabled kaspersky.

In the security centre is states that "PC not protected. Please turn on firewall"

And yes access can be made through both IE and safari.

Have her start Firefox in safe mode and see if it can connect. Does she have any extensions installed? If she does, which ones? She's running Firefox 2.0.0.15, I presume. Is this correct?

Peace...
