IE Shuts Down when Flash Player runs?
I'm not really even sure if this is what it is. I just got my laptop a week ago with Windows Vista installed.

When I'm on internet sites that run Flash Player (i.e. facebook), internet starts to slow down, then IE just shuts down and then restarts. My laptop doesn't shut down, just IE.

It's not my IP or network because my son's and husband's laptop don't have any browser issues. Just mine.

The first couple of times this happened, I received a diagnostic message. Unfortunately, I can't remember what it was because I haven't seen the message since. I do know that it suggested I uninstall Flash Player Active X and re-install, which I did.

Still having the same problem, but now without any error messages of any kind telling me where I should look for issues.

Dell tech support just refers me to GeekSquad and GeekSquad wants to charge me $300 to diagnose my computer, which I think is completely ludicrous since I've only had it for 1 week.

Help?

Have you tried any other browser with your laptop? It may be an issue with the browser rather than the active-x.
Only thing i can find out that may help is that Flash seems to have aproblem installing properly with vista. http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...1499&sliceId=2
that doesnt seem like it has much to do with your problem but it may be that flash is not installing properly and hence internet explorer causes the error, hence the restarting. Try re-installing it along those guidelines and it may help but it may not. Worth a try. Also try another browser if all else fails. Firefox should work alright.
