File 97mb. How do I send it? Hotmail only 50mb
Hi - just done a filmshow as a gift and missed the mail. How can I email it? Hotmail's limit only 50mb and it is almost twice the size. When I try to zip, it distorts it - so do not want to go there. Thanks. yg.

I would just upload it to a free file hosting site such as MediaFire and send the link to who you wish

Yes you should upload the file to a file upload website and send the person a link.

Even if you could send the full 97mb file the other persons mail servers probably won't accept a file that size.

Cannot open Power Point link from Mediafire. How?
Thank you Techychck and ACA529 for your replies. Thought Mediafire to be a great site and no problems. My sister got the link in the Uk and downloaded but could not open the file. I suggested she download Power Point viewer. It makes no difference what she opens, it does not open. Any ideas please? yg.

The file might have got corrupt when it was downloaded. Ask her to check if it is 97mb.

If it's not tell her to re-download it.

Also ask her to check if it is indeed a .PPT file.

YouSendIt is a highly rated site as well for large file transfers.

Even better: http://www.gdgsoft.com/gsplit/

It's free and works great. You can split the file into as many chunks you want and send them one at the time by email.

Last time I've checked, YouSendIt wasn't free anymore!

There is a free "lite" version.

I would never consider sending huge amounts of data a better alternative regardless of how many chunks it's carved into. If someone isn't expecting 100MB of files, they'll be unpleasantly surprised the next time they go to check their e-mail.

I've done it often. You can let the person know before sending.

It's a very useful program. Other than email, it can be used to split large files so they can be saved on small mediums.

Something to keep in mind, sending something that huge will probably take a long time to send.

Another website to try would be filefront.com. I don't know how much it would reduce the size, but I know they are free and offer up to 1GB files.
