You could try to "Reset Internet Explorer settings" option.

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Tools > Internet Options
  3. Click on the Advanced Tab
  4. Press the Reset... button
Check to see if that resolves the issue without Rebooting you PC. If it does not, reboot and check again.

It is possible that something like spyware or malware is causing it to behave that way. Have you run any anti-malware scans on your system? If not I would recommend Malwarebytes' (www.malwarebytes.com). It's free. It's a good idea to run this or something similar every once and a while.

  1. Download Malwarebytes
  2. Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  3. Place check marks next to Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware.
  4. Click Finish
  5. If an update was found, it will download and install it.
  6. Select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  7. When the scan is complete, click OK and Show Results to view.
  8. Be sure that eveything is checked and click Remove Selected.
  9. The log will open in notepad.
  10. Done
  11. Reboot
Have you tried with a different web browser such as Firefox (www.firefox.com) or Google Chrome (www.google.com/chrome). This might allow you to browser the internet right away.

Does the problem persist if you boot Windows in safe mode with networking? Which version of Windows are you running? Are you using a wireless network connection to access the Internet or do you have a wired connection to a router of some kind? What kind of Internet connection do you have?

Peace...

Thanks. I understand the problem you're having but I would like to know if it persists when the system is booted in safe mode. So, please boot the system in safe mode with networking and do what you normally do when the problem occurs and let me know if the problem happens.

Thanks!

Peace...

So, once you booted into safe mode with networking, you were NOT able to access any sites at all?

Can you boot into safe mode with networking and issue this command in a command prompt window:

ipconfig /all

and post the output here?

Peace...
