Internet browsers crashing randomly. Please help!
Recently (about a month ago) both Internet Explorer and Firefox browser started crashing randomly whenever I surf the net. At first i thought it was a virus but I have formatted my hard drive and done a clean install of Windows (XP Pro) twice and the problem still persist. I have not installed any extensions or add-ons. I don't understand what could be causing this problem, it's driving me crazy. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you.
Ash

Please download and install HijackThis by clicking here.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Do not fix anything

It's probable that when visiting a Web page containing applets, your browser crashed because you didn't have Java installed. Please install the latest Java Runtime version 6 update 13 and try browsing again.

Also, please make sure to install an antivirus program and other security software before surfing the Web.

Thank you so much. I will install Java Runtime now and let you know the results. I did have an anti-virus program (Kaspersky) but I thought that might be causing it to crash so I uninstalled it until I found the source of the problem.
