Question retrieve tricky flash from firefox?
I am trying to download this webmagazine

http://tinyurl.com/cgfwqa

and I just can't. Downloading the flash file just gives me a blank loader, and it doesn't seem like the loaded material is anywhere in my cache.

Does anyone know how to gain this flash content?

I am using XP + Firefox 2

Have you tried upgrading to Firefox 3.0.10 ? It's more secure and better with Flash.

Is Adobe Flash installed? That would be the most obvious problem.

Have you checked the FF internet cache for swf and flv files? Chances are it is there in its entirety.

gurutech, i dont prefer firefox 3 and it would have nothing to do with this particular issue of saving flash content to HD.

Helix, the flash works just fine, the problem isnt being able to play it, rather, being able to save it to my computer.

Elvandil, I did try the cache and as I said downloading the flash file gives a blank loader that doesn't actually load any content.
Somehow the loader supposedly connects to the net and loads the content on the fly or something, rather than having a pre-packaged flash file, it would seem. However, if I can see the content on my screen it is on my computer in some form, it would make sense that I can snag it?

I wonder if there is any way to find this content other than basic swf flv downloads, seeing as that only gives me a blank loading screen.

Try searching the cache with a partial filename (if you have even that). It may be named something else until decoded. Or look for files approximately the size you expect and see what shows up.
